Old Favourite, New Loves

Hey everyone :)

So I've recently done some hauling and I found some great deals at my local drugstore!! So without further to do, here's the haul.

The first item I purchased is the Covergirl Natureluxe Foundation. I was running out of my BB Cream (which I normally use) and my Revlon Photoready Foundation was too heavy for everyday so I decided to try this one out after much persuasion from my friend. Well, actually moreso because my drugstore was having 40% all face products and I also had an extra $2 off coupon.

Overall, I like this product. It gives a good light coverage while still looking like your skin. The only downfall aside from the fact that this shade (315) may be a tad dark for me (but 310 seemed to light) is that the lasting power is no where as good as my Revlon Photoready. However, for the look and feel of it I definitely would say I like this product, not love.

The next product I purchased was the NYC Sunny Bronzer. I've always wanted to try this but I guess I always got distracted by the stinking attractive display beside it (Hard Candy). However, this time around I went to a different drugstore than usual and found this product on sale for $1.49. I could not pass this up, it was too good of a deal.

This product is one of my absolute favourites. I would even go as far to say its a new Holy Grail product of mine. Its the perfect colour, its great for contouring, great as a light blush and most importantly its MATTE. I hate shimmer bronzers because personally, I don't think it looks natural, also I just prefer having a matte base and adding shimmer wherever I want it with highlighter and shimmery blushes. Overall, this is a perfect bronzer in my opinion and definitely a repurchase will be made once I run out.

Next, I got a new mascara, I know I didn't need a new one but come on my drugstore was having 50% off all mascaras, I could not just walk away empty handed. Anyways so the mascara I tried out was the L'oreal Telescopic Explosion Waterproof Mascara. Yes, its the one with the torcher ball looking thing at the end, similar to the Givenchy one.

Personally I really like this mascara but I don't love it. I have really straight lashes so mascaras really need to hold curl and while this is great its not amazing. The first day I bought it, I came home straight away, took off my mascara and put this thing on. It looked amazing, my lashes were long and curled. However, the next day I realized my eyelashes looked kinda crunchy and started to droop. I was wondering, was the results from the day before due to the fact that my eyelashes still had a little oil left over from when I removed my makeup? (I use baby oil to remove mascara) I'm still trying to play with this mascara to really get great results. I've been testing different combinations this week and I'll update on this later.

The next product I purchased is my first lip liner. I know, exciting. The one I purchased is called Hot Red by NYX. If you know me, you know how much I love red lips. I personally, use lip liner to fill in my whole lips for a long lasting red lip look.

I absolutely love this product <3 It comes off as almost hot pink but if you build it up enough it looks bright red. Personally, I wear a little bit of lip balm under this and nothing over it and it looks fine. It doesn't seem drying and it wears really well on me. I will note that it does not last through a meal for me but I do tend to wipe my lips a lot. Anyways, bottom line is for $4.99 it was a great purchase.

And last but certainly not least, I finally repurchased my all time favourite holy grail makeup product, MAC's NAKED LUNCH EYESHADOW :) Yes I'm that excited.

Why did it take me 4 weeks to repurchase it? Well I have a MAC counter near me however I wanted to save 4 bucks and buy it in pan form. The nearest MAC store to me is in a mall around 40 minutes away so I couldn't go during the weekdays and something kept on popping up over the weekend so I never got the change to repurchase it. To be honest, I'm a little disappointed because the one I got seemed to be a little stiffer than I remember. It might just be cause it's in pan form?? I don't really know but I still love the colour <3

I hope you guys found this haul interesting :)

Do your pan form MAC eyeshadows seem stiffer than those in pots??

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser, Review, Photos and Swatches

Hi everyone :)

I'm sure like many people out there I've been searching for the perfect under eye concealer. I've tried many concealers but only one seems to be great, Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer, sadly this one is discontinued. I've been searching far and wide everywhere from MAC to Sephora to the Drugstore trying to find a product that might do the same thing the Maybelline concealer does.

My biggest problem with under eye concealer is not enough coverage and creasing. With my MAC Studio Finish Concealer, no matter if I set it with powder or not, its so creamy that it creases in minutes. With some concealers like my Physicans Formula Mineral Correcting Concealer, I find I barely get any coverage.

One day I was watching one of my favourite youtube gurus, makeupbytiffanyd, and heard her mentioning the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser Treatment Concealer (I know a mouthful). Anyways she swore it was the best under eye concealer she's every tried so the next day I quickly ran to the drugstore to grab one.

Here are some photos:

Mine is in the shade 20. Now for starters I know the ball like applicator might freak people out, wondering if its hygenic. Well, on the package it does say that it is supposed to seal it to prevent bacteria or something like that. I normally just sweep it under my eye and blend it in with my finger. I think this is a little more hygenic and also gives you better coverage. To get the product out you simply turn the red dial and you will see product come out from the spongey tip. I do like the fact that the container is clear, that way you can see how much product you've used.

I think this is a great concealer but definitely not the best. While it provides decent coverage, it definitely does not provide as much coverage as I need. I think for someone with minimal dark circles this is a great concealer. For me I still need a little bit more coverage. What I do love about this concealer is the way it makes me look awake without completely hiding my own skin and making me look fake. I think this is a great concealer for those days that I did get some sleep and don't need as much coverage or for those lazy days. Its also a great concealer to bring with you to touch up.

The best thing about this concealer is that it does not crease. I was so glad that it didn't crease and actually did what it claimed on the package, reduce the appearance of fine lines. I have this weird line under my eye, its not a wrinkle, but its just there and I always find my concealer creases there making it look worse. With this product, I actually didn't see that and the line actually looked less visible. Overall, for those of you with minimal dark circles or if you want a concealer that doesn't cover your natural skin completely, I think this is a great option.

Hope you all enjoyed this review!

EOTD, October 15-18, 2011

Hi everyone :)

Sorry I haven't posted for so long. Over the weekend I attended a University Fair and spent most of my time researching different career options. So I decided to take today to make it up to you guys. This post will be a super long post and will consist of the EOTDs for the 15th,17th and 18th.

EOTD for October 15th:

I did a super light look for Saturday since I was wearing my glasses I didn't want to go over the top. I normally wear browns and champagnes but I do really like wearing greys as well. Its just harder to pull them off as I have such a warm skintone.

Products Used:
-Benefit Stay Don't Stray
-Rimmel Sun Safari Quad (lightest shade)(all over lid)
-Inglot Grey Eyeshadow (similar to MAC's copperplate)(in crease)
-Inglot AMC gel liner in 90
-Maybelline Falsies Waterproof Mascara
-Covergirl Lashblast Waterproof Mascara

EOTD for October 17th:

I decided to do a look inspired by the red and green leaves in autumn. This is definitely a very fun look to wear and adds a pop of colour to your normal look. Personally if I'm not wearing browns I like to wear burgundys and maroons. They are super easy to wear especially if you have a warm skin tone.

Products Used:
-Benefit Stay Don't Stray
-Rimmel Sun Safari Quad (lightest shade)(all over lid)
-MAC Mythology Eyeshadow (lustre)(in crease)
-Inglot matte white eyeshadow (highlight)
-Inglot AMC gel liner in 90
-Maybelline Falsies Black Drama Waterproof Mascara
-Covergirl Lashblast Waterproof Mascara
-Maybelline Great Lash Green Envy Mascara (lower lashes)

EOTD for October 18th:

On my recent trip I visited Las Vegas and stopped by the outlets. Of course I had to stop into the CCO. One of the gems I found was Heritage Rouge Pigment by MAC. Today I decided to do a look using this pigment to spice up a simple everyday look.

Products Used:
-Benefit Stay Don't Stray
-Rimmel Sun Safari Quad (lightest shade)(all over lid)
-MAC Soft Brown Eyeshadow (matte)(in crease)
-MAC Heritage Rouge Pigment (LE)(outer corner)
-Inglot AMC gel liner in 90
-Maybelline Falsies Black Drama Waterproof Mascara
-Covergirl Lashblast Waterproof Mascara

So thats all guys, hope you all had a fabulous weekend :)

EOTD, October 14, 2011

 Hi everyone :)

Sorry in advance but today's EOTD is gonna be a bit picture heavy. I did a look with MAC's humid and for some reason I struggled to get the lighting right. These pictures really don't do it justice, the colour is so vibrant but these pictures definitely wash it out.

Anyways, here are the pics!

The lighting in this one is a little closer to the true colour
Products Used:
-Inglot gold eyeshadow (inner half of lid) (sorry i don't have the name its glued to my palette)
-MAC humid eyeshadow (outer half of lid) (permanent)
-MAC soft brown eyeshadow (crease) (permanent)
-Inglot matte white eyeshadow (highlight)
-Inglot AMC gel liner in 90
-Maybelline Falsies black drama waterproof mascara
-Covergirl Lashblast waterproof mascara

Here's a picture of the inglot palette I have and MAC's humid:

I used the middle colour

Have a great weekend!!

MAC Soft Brown Eyeshadow, Review, Photos and Swatches

Hi everyone :)

One of my favourite eyeshadows of all time is soft brown by MAC. It is just a perfect colour whether its for all over the lid, in the crease and I even use it sometimes to contour. It's just an all around versatile shade.

Here are some pictures!

In the pan it seems very neutral. However, when used on the eye it definitely pulls a little more orange, or at least on me. It is a very flattering colour for someone like me, who has a very warm skin tone (I'm NC25). I've personally never seen someone with cool skin tone wear this however I'm sure on them this shade would pull more cool. I think this is such a versatile shade and would pull different colours depending on your undertone.

The quality of this shadow I will say is not the best. It is a matte which are generally stiffer. I have another matte eyeshadow from MAC that is definitely better quality than this one swatched. However, when used on the eye there is no pigmentation issue, it just happens to be a bit stiff when you try to swatch it.

Overall this is a great eyeshadow. At $18 it is a bit pricey but the splurge is definitely worth it. Like I always say I would rather buy one great eyeshadow than 5 so so ones.

I hope you guys enjoyed this review and leave a request for any tutorials with this colour :)

much love <3

EOTD, October 13, 2011

Hi everyone :)

So today I did one of my most worn looks. If I am just lazy that day and don't feel like thinking of anything creative, I'll wear this look. However, I normally do this look with MAC's Naked Lunch eyeshadow. I had to substitute it because I finished it up.

Here are the pictures :)

Products Used:
-Benefit Stay Don't Stray
-Rimmel Sun Safari Quad (lightest shade) (all over lid)
-MAC Soft Brown Eyeshadow (permanent) (crease)
-Inglot Matte White Eyeshadow (highlight)
-Inglot AMC Gel Liner in 90
-Maybelline Falsies Black Drama Waterproof Mascara
-Covergirl Lashblast Waterproof Mascara

Here is a picture of my finished naked lunch eyeshadow :( I use this everyday and I've been out of it for 3 weeks now cause I haven't found the time to repurchase it.
