Drugstore & MAC Haul

Hey everyone :)

Sorry for not posting for so long.....the long chain of posts I'll be doing today will hopefully make up for it. Anyways today I decided to start with a haul of some new makeup items I recently picked up :)

I recently stopped by my local drugstore and found the limited edition Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Liner in Forest on sale. I was so excited as I have heard one of my favourite gurus Amarixe (http://www.amarixe.com/) raving about this liner.

This liner is a deep "forest" green with beautiful shimmers. Since it does have shimmers I would say to avoid using it on the waterline. I've so far used it as a liner for my top lashline and I absolutely love it. I can't wait to try it out as a base for some darker looks.

The next day I stopped by the drugstore while on a shopping trip with one of my friends. I saw that they had most of the Revlon lip products on sale for $3.99. Now sometimes Revlon will have these sales but only on their Super Lustrous line but this time this discount was also applied to the Colorburst line. Sadly, a lot of the lipsticks I was hoping to pick up were sold out. Instead, I picked up 2 of their lipglosses.

Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Strawberry
Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Hot Pink
I absolutely love these lipglosses. They are super smooth and the glitters don't feel gritty. The applicator is probably the best part about this. Its shaped kind of like a flattened paddle. It looks weird but it really works well to outline the exact shape of your lips.

Excuse the awful lip swatches. The first one is of the hot pink gloss and the second is of the gloss in strawberry.

Recently I stopped by MAC twice. The first time I went with my friend to one of the few free standing stores in our area. I picked up the ever famous Satin Taupe Eyeshadow.

I must say that I absolutely love this eyeshadow. It is so versatile. I've been loving using it all over the lid and then putting a little bit of Soft Brown in the crease for a little bit of warmth.

And last but not least........
MAC Ice Parade finally came out. I've been eyeing pictures of the MAC Dazzlesphere lip sets online for so long. When the collection came out I took the first chance I got to go and pick up one of the sets. I went with my grandma and she offered to buy me this set as part of my Christmas Present :)

MAC Petite Indulgence Cremesheen Glass

MAC Fashion Scoop Cremesheen Glass

MAC Rags to Riches Dazzleglass
MAC Like Venus Dazzleglass
I loved that for this years holiday sets they decided to give us dazzleglasses and cremesheen glasses instead of lipglasses. Personally I am a huge fan of dazzleglasses and am always excited to acquire new ones. I was super pleased with the selections for the pink set. My favourite is definitely Like Venus Dazzleglass. Its so pretty. As far as I know 3 of the colours are permanent and Petite Indulgence Cremesheen Glass is a repromote. You do get a lot of product for the amount of money you pay so this set is definitely worth it.

Hope you all enjoyed this haul :)

Silver Rain, a tutorial

Hey everyone :)

So I haven't been doing very many new looks for day to day so instead of doing redundant EOTDs I decided to do a tutorial instead. You may be asking yourselves, what's with the name? Well to be honest its not really relevant to the tutorial, except for the silver part. I really just named this tutorial SILVER RAIN because one of my friend's band was called Silver Rain and his explanation for that name was "It sounds sexy". Anyways all awkwardness about the name aside, lets move on to the tutorial.

Products Used:
-Benefit Stay Don't Stray
-MAC Naked Lunch Eyeshadow (frost)
-Wet n Wild Spoiled Brat Trio Eyeshadow
-L'oreal Lineur Intense Carbon Black Liquid Eyeliner
-NYX Black Pencil Liner
-Covergirl Lashblast Volume Waterproof Mascara
-L'oreal Telescopic Explosion Waterproof Mascara

What I Did:
1. Prime eyes with Benefit Stay Don't Stray.
2. Apply MAC Naked Lunch to inner half of the lid.
3. Apply silver colour from Wet n Wild trio to outer half of the lid up to the crease and on the inner corner.
4. Apply black colour from Wet n Wild trio to outer corner and crease.
5. Line eyes with L'oreal Lineur Intense Eyeliner, wing out liner for a more dramatic effect.
6. Line waterline with NYX Black Pencil Liner.
7. Curl lashes and apply mascara.

Hope you all enjoyed :)

L'oreal Telescopic Explosion Waterproof Mascara, Review, Photos and Swatches

Hey everyone :)

So I had purchased this mascara on my most recent haul and I fell in love with it after a few uses so I thought I'd do a more in depth review.

Now this mascara has a really interesting wand, it has been described as a torcher ball and has also been compared to a mascara made by Givenchy. Of course, this mascara is much cheaper than the Givenchy one so if you are hoping to try this type of mascara I would suggest you purchase this one. Some people hate this wand, I personally love it because it gets to every single lash and it separates lashes really well.

Here is a picture of my lashes without mascara:

My lashes are super long but are also super straight. They literally poke my eye sometimes and it drives me insane, hense why I wear mascara everyday. This issue I have makes finding a great mascara crucial.

Here are pictures of my eyelashes with the mascara on:

As you can see my lashes look much longer and are finally curled up. I really like this mascara for a few reasons. First, its not clumpy. It seperates my lashes really well unlike Covergirl Lashblast Volume (honestly I don't understand why people love it so much). I also love that its waterproof but still easy to get off at the end of the day with some makeup remover also unlike Covergirl Lashblast Volume. The best thing about this mascara is definitely the wand. It makes it so easy to separate and fan out my lashes.

There are a few downsides to this mascara. The first is that it doesn't hold curl amazingly. My eyelashes will droop but not as fast as some other mascaras do. However, I do think it fares really well considering how straight my lashes are. The next is that its not the most volumizing mascara. I like super long thick lashes and since my lashes are already pretty long, I like mascaras to be very volumizing.

Overall, I love this mascara for seperation and lengthening. It still doesn't beat my favourite, Maybelline Falsies Black Drama Waterproof, but I do still love this one and will be repurchasing it.

What are your favourite mascaras?
Tell me in the comments :)

Old Favourite, New Loves

Hey everyone :)

So I've recently done some hauling and I found some great deals at my local drugstore!! So without further to do, here's the haul.

The first item I purchased is the Covergirl Natureluxe Foundation. I was running out of my BB Cream (which I normally use) and my Revlon Photoready Foundation was too heavy for everyday so I decided to try this one out after much persuasion from my friend. Well, actually moreso because my drugstore was having 40% all face products and I also had an extra $2 off coupon.

Overall, I like this product. It gives a good light coverage while still looking like your skin. The only downfall aside from the fact that this shade (315) may be a tad dark for me (but 310 seemed to light) is that the lasting power is no where as good as my Revlon Photoready. However, for the look and feel of it I definitely would say I like this product, not love.

The next product I purchased was the NYC Sunny Bronzer. I've always wanted to try this but I guess I always got distracted by the stinking attractive display beside it (Hard Candy). However, this time around I went to a different drugstore than usual and found this product on sale for $1.49. I could not pass this up, it was too good of a deal.

This product is one of my absolute favourites. I would even go as far to say its a new Holy Grail product of mine. Its the perfect colour, its great for contouring, great as a light blush and most importantly its MATTE. I hate shimmer bronzers because personally, I don't think it looks natural, also I just prefer having a matte base and adding shimmer wherever I want it with highlighter and shimmery blushes. Overall, this is a perfect bronzer in my opinion and definitely a repurchase will be made once I run out.

Next, I got a new mascara, I know I didn't need a new one but come on my drugstore was having 50% off all mascaras, I could not just walk away empty handed. Anyways so the mascara I tried out was the L'oreal Telescopic Explosion Waterproof Mascara. Yes, its the one with the torcher ball looking thing at the end, similar to the Givenchy one.

Personally I really like this mascara but I don't love it. I have really straight lashes so mascaras really need to hold curl and while this is great its not amazing. The first day I bought it, I came home straight away, took off my mascara and put this thing on. It looked amazing, my lashes were long and curled. However, the next day I realized my eyelashes looked kinda crunchy and started to droop. I was wondering, was the results from the day before due to the fact that my eyelashes still had a little oil left over from when I removed my makeup? (I use baby oil to remove mascara) I'm still trying to play with this mascara to really get great results. I've been testing different combinations this week and I'll update on this later.

The next product I purchased is my first lip liner. I know, exciting. The one I purchased is called Hot Red by NYX. If you know me, you know how much I love red lips. I personally, use lip liner to fill in my whole lips for a long lasting red lip look.

I absolutely love this product <3 It comes off as almost hot pink but if you build it up enough it looks bright red. Personally, I wear a little bit of lip balm under this and nothing over it and it looks fine. It doesn't seem drying and it wears really well on me. I will note that it does not last through a meal for me but I do tend to wipe my lips a lot. Anyways, bottom line is for $4.99 it was a great purchase.

And last but certainly not least, I finally repurchased my all time favourite holy grail makeup product, MAC's NAKED LUNCH EYESHADOW :) Yes I'm that excited.

Why did it take me 4 weeks to repurchase it? Well I have a MAC counter near me however I wanted to save 4 bucks and buy it in pan form. The nearest MAC store to me is in a mall around 40 minutes away so I couldn't go during the weekdays and something kept on popping up over the weekend so I never got the change to repurchase it. To be honest, I'm a little disappointed because the one I got seemed to be a little stiffer than I remember. It might just be cause it's in pan form?? I don't really know but I still love the colour <3

I hope you guys found this haul interesting :)

Leave a comment below for any reviews on these products and quick question....
Do your pan form MAC eyeshadows seem stiffer than those in pots??
